Youth Up North

Since 2020, the Youth Up North project has played a central role in the work of creating vibrant rural areas where young people not only want to live and reside, but also have an active role in social development. In the project's latest initiative, Youth Up North collaborates with the municipalities of Haparanda, Jokkmokk, Sorsele, Vindeln and Åsele. By involving civil society, business and municipalities, new methods are created to strengthen trust in young people's competence and commitment.

The core of the project is to create meeting places where young people have the opportunity to meet adult decision-makers and together shape their local communities. This work contributes to a sustainable rural area and gives young people a long-term place in decision-making processes.

The role of the youth consultant in development work 

Spring youth consultant at the Norrbotten Region, is actively working to integrate young people's perspectives into the new regional development strategy (RUS) and serves as an important link between young people, municipalities and the region. By highlighting young people's voices in all relevant processes, their influence on issues that affect the future of Norrbotten is strengthened.
