Digital co-planning Norrbotten
The Digital Co-Planning Norrbotten project will develop a digital map service where information can be displayed to the public. The aim is also to provide increased knowledge about digitalization and the possibilities of artificial intelligence in community planning.
Background
The Digital Sample Planning Norrbotten project is ongoing during the period 2025-2027 with Region Norrbotten as the project owner. The project involves further developing a map service at Region Norrbotten where geographic information can be displayed to the public.
The map service enables the Region to coordinate community planning issues that affect several municipalities or the entire region. This can be information about where care and services are available or information about governing documents for the region, such as the County Transport Plan.
Another part of the project involves exploring and testing how digitalization and artificial intelligence can contribute to sustainable development in community planning. This mainly involves educational efforts on what artificial intelligence is and what good examples exist from other regions.
Goals and objectives
Objective: A developed digital map service for the Norrbotten Region that is well informed to the target groups that need to use it. An islandincreased knowledge about digitalization and the possibilities of artificial intelligence in community planning.
Purpose: Create better cooperation between the region, authorities and municipalities regarding regional development issues within urban planning.
Activities during the project period
- Test the digital map service in the work of implementing the Regional Development Strategy (RUS).
- Develop the digital map service together with municipalities and authorities.
- Develop or digitize new map information together with municipalities or other stakeholders that may be of interest to the entire region.
- Offer training in Artificial Intelligence in regional community planning.
Target group for the project
- The municipalities in Norrbotten - primarily community planners at the municipalities.
- The Association of Local Authorities - Norrbotten's municipalities
- Regional companies and authorities - for example, the public transport authority, Länstrafiken, Swedish Lapland.
- Government authorities - for example, the Swedish Transport Administration, County Administrative Boards.
Who is financing the project?
The project is co-financed by the Norrbotten Region and the European Regional Development Fund.
