Digital co-planning Norrbotten
Digital co-planning Norrbotten is developing a digital map service for regional strategic planning. The service collects geographic data that can be used in dialogue and collaboration between the region, municipalities, authorities and other actors in regional development. The project also works with learning initiatives on how generative AI can be used in community planning.
Background
The project is run by Region Norrbotten during the period 2025–2027. It is co-financed by Region Norrbotten and the European Regional Development Fund. The background is the need for better joint planning data on issues that affect several municipalities or the entire county and its surrounding area.
The project involves developing a map service at Region Norrbotten where geographic information can be displayed to the public.
The map service makes it possible for Region Norrbotten to coordinate and visualize overall community planning issues that affect several municipalities or the entire region, such as transportation, infrastructure planning, service, skills supply issues.
Another part of the project involves learning more about how tools can contribute to sustainable development in community planning.

Develops and tests the digital map, the Norrbotten Co-Planning Map, in regional and municipal strategic planning.
