The work on population supply is carried out close to the municipalities. It has a clear goal: to make it easier for new residents to discover Norrbotten, move here, stay, enjoy themselves and settle in. The need for labor is great in the coming years – from both Sweden and other countries.
Region Norrbotten coordinates and finances joint efforts. One example is participation in the Emigration Expo in Utrecht. At this large fair, Region Norrbotten and the municipalities together present the county under the name Move to Arctic Sweden. There, we showcase Norrbotten as an attractive place, offering both career opportunities and quality of life.
In almost all municipalities there are immigration services that act as a hub in the work. They provide support from the first curious question to establishment in Norrbotten. Through collaboration, exchange of experiences and regional coordination, the municipalities' ability to receive and retain new residents is strengthened.
