Little Norrbotten is reading

The Norrbotten Region celebrates the theme year "Children and Young People" with an exciting activity for the youngest children. Between February 17 and March 9, children between the ages of 3-6 can vote for their favorite book via Polarbibblo.se or at one of the county's public libraries. 

Children can choose between three exciting titles: 

• Azin's Longing by Peimaneh Mollazehi and Lotta Geffenblad
• The White Widow and the Golden Sip by Pija Lindenbaum
• The Tree Party by Pernilla Lissmyr.

The selection has been made by staff who work with children and young people. The book that receives the most votes will be read aloud in libraries during week 14 (March 31 - April 6).

- This initiative is a great example of how we can involve children in decision-making processes in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child while creating the joy of reading, says Christina Stålnacke at Norrbotten Regional Library. 

By using the reading and writing promotion site Polarbibblo, which is run by the Regional Library in collaboration with public libraries, the voting process becomes easy. Perhaps the children will also find more books to read, among the book tips in Polarbibblo's treasure chest.
