Norrbotten Regional Library is stepping up initiatives that strengthen children's right to language, a love of reading and community. With a focus on tradition and innovation, the library will become a place where children can encounter stories in different ways, and perhaps most importantly – each other.

Region Norrbotten runs Polarbibblo – a digital platform where children can explore their storytelling and language in a creative and enjoyable way. During December, you can take advantage of their Christmas calendar with 24 digital slots.

Together, the libraries in Norrbotten are strengthening their ability to inspire and create new creative spaces for children and young people across the county. This is done through a joint investment in training in creative writing workshops.

2024 is the year we will all be fooled. Professor Peter Parnes stated this during the county conference, which this year had the theme of AI and how AI can be used in a library context – today and in the future.

Library staff from Norrbotten gathered at the end of October at Kulturens Hus in Luleå for a day full of inspiration, knowledge and development on the theme of reading promotion.

– I love my job and having a library full of kids. If they see that I think it's fun to talk about books and reading with them, then hopefully they will also catch the reading bug, says Jenny Johansson.

– Our library collaboration in Norrbotten is largely completely digital. The county conferences strengthen the collegial community in the region, says Birgitta Markusson, Regional Library Manager.
