Now you have the opportunity to have your say on the proposal for the Regional Cultural Plan 2027–2030. The Cultural Plan shows the direction that Region Norrbotten wants to take to strengthen and develop cultural life – for everyone who lives and works in the county. Your views will help us make the plan clearer and more accurate.

Background

The Norrbotten Region has developed a proposal for a new regional cultural plan. The plan is the region's strategic steering document for the cultural sector and is also the basis for the Swedish Council for Arts and Culture's decision on state operating grants within the cultural collaboration model.

The proposal has been developed through dialogues with municipalities, cultural life and civil society. It is also based on knowledge and experience from previous planning periods.

Now we would like to take the next step together with you. Region Norrbotten welcomes views from municipalities, cultural activities, professional cultural creators, civil society organizations, authorities and other stakeholders – before the plan goes forward for political decision.

In your response to the consultation, we would particularly like to know whether you feel that the cultural plan's focus and priorities are relevant. We would also like to know whether the level of ambition feels reasonable based on today's conditions, whether the division of responsibilities between different levels is clear, and whether there are important perspectives that are missing from the proposal.

The consultation is a way for us to gather overall views. It is therefore not intended to control artistic content, regulate activities in detail, or propose new commitments that require extra resources.

How are the comments processed?

Region Norrbotten compiles and takes a position on all comments received. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide individual feedback, but each response is an important basis for further work. We will then produce a revised proposal that will be considered by the Regional Development Committee before the council makes a decision in December 2026.
