The region's vision and starting point

Vision

Norrbotten's vision is to be a pioneer in validation. All individuals should be given the opportunity to have their knowledge recognized, regardless of background. In this way, validation contributes to a sustainable, inclusive and competitive labor market throughout the county.

The work is based on a circular approach to skills provision, where already existing skills are made visible and utilized as an integrated part of the region's long-term strategy. To achieve this, a coordinated and labor market-relevant validation structure is required. Broad collaboration between municipalities, education providers, employers, authorities and civil society is therefore crucial.

Strategic work to strengthen skills supply

The Norrbotten Region is in a development phase where the emphasis is increasingly shifting towards strategically developing, coordinating and prioritizing skills supply issues. Validation is an important component of this work, and a support structure has been developed to strengthen efforts and increase opportunities to make individuals' skills visible.

Regional support structure for validation

Region Norrbotten has a clear mission to lead and coordinate the regional support structure for validation as part of the overall skills supply work. The support structure is based on both the national validation strategy and the regional development strategy (RUS). The goal is to make individuals' actual skills visible and thereby contribute to both individual development and the needs of the labor market.
