Different ways to validate
Where can I turn?
Contact a study and career counselor in your municipality to find out more about how validation works and what applies to you.
Validation within Komvux
Komvux validates knowledge you have acquired in ways other than formal studies, so that you can enroll in upper secondary education or get grades more quickly. It is aimed at adults who want to supplement or broaden their education.

Industry validation
Industry validation shows that you have the right skills for a particular profession according to the industry's requirements. It is aimed at those who have professional experience but lack formal education, and often leads to a certificate or certification.
Industry validation (Authority for Polytechnics)
The industry validation map gives you an idea of which industry validation models are available in different parts of the country.
Validation within the university of applied sciences
The university of applied sciences validates previous experience to determine whether you are eligible for a course. This makes it possible to be admitted even if you do not have full high school grades – as long as you have the corresponding knowledge.
Validation and real competence (Authority for Higher Education)
Validation of foreign education
Have you studied abroad? Then you can have your education assessed in Sweden in order to work in your profession or study further. The validation is done by authorities such as UHR or the National Board of Health and Welfare, depending on the profession.

Validation within universities and colleges
Universities and colleges can validate prior learning to give you credit towards a degree. This is especially useful if you already have equivalent knowledge through work or other studies.
Real competence (Antagning.se)

Validation in adult education
In folk education, validation often takes place in collaboration with other actors and is about making visible and documenting the individual's competence. It is aimed at participants at folk high schools or study associations who want to take the next step towards work or studies.
