The work to develop a new strategy for smart specialization has begun in the spring of 2026. The process is divided into several steps to ensure broad analysis and participation.

A strategy that is shaped together

As part of the work, we have had open dialogue meetings with stakeholders in the county in the spring of 2026. There was an opportunity to share perspectives on Norrbotten's challenges, areas of strength and future needs. For those who were unable to participate in the dialogues, there is now the opportunity to submit digital contributions until September 11.

The next step in the strategy work

During the autumn, we will then jointly develop a proposal for a strategy. The proposal will then be sent out for consultation, so that more people have the opportunity to provide their views. Using these inputs as a basis, we will continue to develop and deepen the proposal.

The new strategy is planned to be decided by the Regional Development Board in the fall of 2027.
