From dialogue to new Smart Specialization Strategy

The work to develop a new strategy for smart specialization has now begun. The process is divided into several steps to ensure broad analysis and participation throughout the work.

A strategy that is shaped together

As part of the work, we invite you to open dialogue meetings with stakeholders in the county in the spring of 2026. There is an opportunity to share perspectives on Norrbotten's challenges, areas of strength and future needs. The work is not just about choosing priority areas. It is also about coming together, building capacity and creating long-term conditions for innovation and development. Together we will develop a proposed strategy in the autumn.

The proposal is then sent out for consultation, which gives you the opportunity to provide feedback. After that, we work further on the proposal based on the feedback received.

The new strategy is planned to be decided by the Regional Development Board in the fall of 2027.
