About the work

The work aims to develop a regional planning basis that will support decision-makers and stakeholders in Norrbotten in the long-term strategic work on housing development and housing supply. The development is taking place in close collaboration with the county's municipalities and stakeholders, to ensure that the result is relevant, usable and well-established.

An important part of the process is a regional reference group, which contributes knowledge, perspectives and experiences to strengthen the quality of the document. The document should provide a comprehensive and action-oriented picture of the county's long-term housing needs, with analyses of, among other things, demographics, expected move-in and the development and requirements of total defense. It should also describe how the county can meet these needs in a sustainable and resource-efficient way through better use of existing housing, development of relocation chains, strategic housing development and strengthened preparedness.

The goal is to develop a clear, strategic and practically useful planning basis that provides municipalities, regions and other social actors with common knowledge support. This will strengthen their ability to make long-term and well-founded decisions – both in everyday life and in situations that require increased preparedness.
