Strengthened capacity for sustainable housing development in Norrbotten – BOST.
A three-year regional development project with the aim of strengthening the capacity in Norrbotten for sustainable housing development.
To meet the green transition in Norrbotten, thousands of new homes are required, while the county has an existing aging housing stock whose attractiveness and technical lifespan have passed their best-before date.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of municipalities to optimize the use of existing housing and associated living environments. Where new housing is required, the project aims to strengthen the conditions for planning, construction and management to be carried out with careful design, a long-term time perspective and circular principles.
Through collaboration with the municipalities, the project will:
- develop a regional housing development strategy
- promote residential mobility
- develop sustainable land allocation processes
- strengthen the development of existing housing stock
- attract responsible property developers.
The desired long-term effect of the project is to ensure sustainable regional housing development.
