Network for Regional Event Cooperation

More and larger events in Norrbotten can increase the sense of pride, contribute to growth and increase the county's attractiveness.

Purpose

The purpose of the network is to strengthen relationships between actors in the county and exchange experiences with each other. To build relationships at the municipal and regional level so that collaboration, dialogue and mutual awareness and knowledge are both enabled and clarified.

Goals of the work on regional event collaboration

Short-term goals:

  • That the regional network becomes a natural forum for local and regional actors in the county who work with events at a strategic level to exchange experiences and create awareness of each other's conditions.
  • That our regional network meetings become a natural meeting place where we share good examples, inspire each other and carry out skills-enhancing initiatives.
  • To create a common overview of which events are planned over the years.

Long-term goals:

  • Strengthen the image of the importance of events for regional development.
  • That events are prioritized to an even greater extent within decision-making bodies. That the issue is clarified in municipal and regional plans/strategies.
  • This, in turn, will contribute to enabling the conditions in the longer term to implement a regional events strategy and thus improve the county and the region's conditions for attracting larger and international events.
  • Bring more international and national events to the county spread across all seasons.
  • Clarify and strengthen the image of Norrbotten as an obvious event region for international and national events.
  • That several actors from Norrbotten participate in national meeting places linked to events and event development. For example, the Swedish Sports Federation's meeting place "Sports and Destination" where many Special Sports Federations participate.
  • Work for sustainable events in the county from several different perspectives (economic, social and environmental).
