About Norrbotten in Almedalen 2025

The Regional Development Committee decided on February 19, 2025, that the Norrbotten Region will participate in Almedalen in the summer of 2025. The initiative will be financed with a maximum of SEK 1,5 million within the framework of the existing project Meeting Places 2025-2027.

Norrbotten in Almedalen 2025 aims to:

• Region Norrbotten's participation in Almedalen is about putting issues on the agenda, increasing and deepening knowledge about our county, and ultimately achieving policies that are good for both Norrbotten and the development of all of Sweden. 
  
• Focus on the opportunities and challenges that the large investments have on society in Norrbotten.
• Make Norrbotten's strengths and resources visible. Show that Norrbotten contributes to development nationally and internationally.
• The meeting places will be an opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences with each other and create networks that contribute to the county's development.
• Help more people become good and proud ambassadors for Norrbotten.

The project will result in the following:

• That the region's stakeholders together achieve a consensus on important issues regarding the county's development that leads to joint action.
• That knowledge about Norrbotten's strengths and resources as well as the county's specific conditions is disseminated to selected target groups.
• That networks are created where people strengthen each other and become good and proud ambassadors for Norrbotten.
• Region Norrbotten continues its work promoting Norrbotten in the national arena.
• Enables other actors to have venues to talk about the county's challenges and opportunities.
