Norrbotten a winner in the new space age

Space has always fascinated humans. Now we are entering a new space age, an era that opens up completely new opportunities for Norrbotten.

"There is potential here to create growth for our region but also benefit the earth and the people who live on it," says Johanna Bergström Roos at LTU Business. She is project manager for the RIT project, which stands for Space, Innovation and Growth.

In the fourth episode of the Let's talk podcast, we visit Kiruna, which will soon become Europe's first location for satellite launches.

"We will probably soon be the world's best space base when it comes to sustainable thinking and long-term planning. We will attract many more players here," says Bergström Roos.

Here is the Institute for Space Physics, which already attracts researchers from all over the world, and several companies that want to be part of the development and the new space economy that is emerging. Here is expertise, experience, the space university and research.

Is the space industry on its way to becoming a new staple industry in Norrbotten? In episode 4 of the Let's talk podcast, we take a closer look at all the possibilities that lie beyond the northern lights.
