Jokkmokk Arctic Talks continues to put important development issues for Norrbotten on the national agenda and spread knowledge about the county's conditions and challenges.

New societies are emerging - How we make visions a reality

New industrialization continues in the north and affects virtually all policy areas. What happens to the balance of power in Sweden when the big investors of the future turn their attention to the rural areas in the north instead of the big cities in the south? In what ways will we together solve the enormous skills needs that arise?

We will hear how other Arctic regions have addressed both the challenges and opportunities that an Arctic region faces: barren climate, sparsely populated with long distances but at the same time large natural resources, unique natural environments and a rich culture. Northern Sweden is in the midst of a green new industrialization that is accelerating the needs for housing and community construction. What can we learn from the other Arctic regions in this area?
