Welcome to Jokkmokk Arctic Talks!
On February 1st, it's time for Jokkmokk Arctic Talks – the arena that puts important development issues for Norrbotten on the national agenda. Here's how to take part in Jokkmokk Arctic Talks – wherever you are.
This year, our interesting guests will discuss the difficult choices Norrbotten – and indeed to some extent the whole country – faces. For the green transition not only holds opportunities and challenges – but also conflicts of interest.
What appears to be an opportunity for one party may be experienced as a disaster for another. So how do we achieve the greatest possible benefit for the least possible harm? How do we weigh the benefit to society against the rights of the individual? The benefit to Sweden against the impact on the local community? The benefit to a company against the interests of its neighbors? What price are we willing to pay for a rapid transformation of industry and society – and when does the price become too high?
You are welcome to take part in the conversation on site in Jokkmokk during this year's winter market, on February 1st at 10-11 am. We will meet in the session room in Jokkmokk's municipal hall, which you will find at Västra Torggatan 11. No pre-registration is required - just go there.
Can't be there? Shortly afterwards, a recording of Jokkmokk Arctic Talks will be published here on evtålnorrbotten.se, for you to watch at your convenience.
