Accessibility through digitalization
Digitalization has made it possible to create a smarter and more efficient society. One of several important steps of digitalization is to develop digital services to make life easier for people no matter where they live.
Imagine training in a virtual world – does it work?
– We are working to make physiotherapy more accessible to all people, simply says Emil Lilja, CEO of Curest.
Curest is a tech company that has established itself as a leader in digital physiotherapy. The Luleå company has developed a method that makes it possible to rehab remotely. By using VR glasses, the patient can carry out their training at home while the physiotherapist keeps track of how the training is going. Curest is currently available in Sweden and Norway with the ambition to grow globally.
Can we create better conditions for our rural areas with digital technology?
– We are working to reduce inequalities between cities and rural areas and include everyone, says Dajana Sabljak, Luleå University of Technology.
Digitalization in rural areas is important for an inclusive society. Smart, viable villages, SMALL, is a project that seeks to capture collaboration around digital technology. The project uses existing digital technology to test different services in rural areas.
– The support means a lot, we see the fantastic results and when you live and work here yourself, you are very happy about the difference we make, says Mari Runardotter, Luleå University of Technology.
