Company visit in Jokkmokk: "Fun to see positive effects"
How have the companies in Jokkmokk that have received investment support fared? On February 20-22, our business support strategists visited the municipality to follow up. They also took the opportunity to meet with companies that have plans for future investments.
Our employees met with twelve companies in food processing, hospitality, crafts, trade and manufacturing.
One of the companies visited was Sápmi Ren och Vilt AB. The company sells and processes products from reindeer, moose, fish and berries. All raw materials are sourced in the local area with great respect for the environment. In 2022, the Norrbotten Region granted business support to invest in a price marking and inventory management system, renovation of premises and a tent hut.
- We were welcomed by CEO Helena Länta who showed us around the premises. She explained what a boost the investments have brought to the company, says strategist Anita Johansson.
The staff kitchen and store are now larger and fresher. This has allowed us to expand the range in the store while also providing the staff with a more pleasant workplace.
“The work is going better”
Helena Länta said that the price marking system and handheld computers have meant major changes for product marking.
- It has made it incredibly easier for the staff as the heavy lifting has been reduced and the work flows better. Customer reception has improved as we can now easily see what is in stock, Helena said.

Helena Länta gave a tour of the company and showed how the investment support has been beneficial.
The tent was purchased to represent the company at various events and offer various tasting experiences, becoming another tourist attraction in Jokkmokk.
- We had interesting and rewarding days in Jokkmokk and it is fun to see what positive effects our investment support can contribute, says Anita Johansson.
The visits were made together with Jokkmokk's business and industrial company Strukturum AB. From the Norrbotten Region, Elisabeth Johansson Englund, Tobias Kahn, Per-Anders Karlsson and Anita Johansson participated.
