RUS 2030 – now we adjust the course
Norrbotten's challenges and opportunities look different today than they did four or five years ago. Now is the time to revise the regional development strategy – and you will be able to help and influence it.
The Regional Development Strategy (RUS) 2030 is the result of input from business, academia, civil society and the public sector. It is our common tool for shaping Norrbotten's future and helping us prioritize how we direct our efforts. Now is the time to discuss again how we can best create tomorrow's sustainable society in Norrbotten.
The RUS must be updated at least once between each election. The current one was adopted in 2019. Since then, a lot has happened in Norrbotten and the surrounding area. Investments worth a thousand billion, communities in expansion and the need for a large influx in a short time. The county has been faced with new opportunities and challenges that need to be reflected in a revised strategy.
Opinions and perspectives
The Regional Development Committee has decided to provide three million kronor for a two-year project that will result in a revised RUS. During the project, Region Norrbotten will gather opinions and perspectives that can be incorporated into the strategy. Municipalities, authorities, organizations, business, academia, civil society, young people and trade unions will have the opportunity to provide input and contribute to the content of the strategy. This will be done, among other things, through various forms of dialogue and workshops during the next year.
– To create a sustainable future for Norrbotten, we need to continue working together. We must discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We hope that many Norrbotten residents will take the chance to participate and have an impact, says Helena Ölund (S), chairwoman of the regional development committee.
