Return to Region Norrbotten in a new management role

Region Norrbotten welcomes John Kostet back! John Kostet will strengthen the regional development department as deputy unit manager. It is a new role that includes work with advocacy issues, strategy work and Region Norrbotten's companies.

With the new position, John Kostet returns to the Norrbotten Region and his hometown of Luleå after several years abroad.

From 2013 to 2017 he worked with international relations for Region Norrbotten, but for the past four years John Kostet has been monitoring northern Sweden's interests in the EU from the North Sweden European Office. This is the joint Brussels office for Region Norrbotten, Region Västerbotten, Region Västernorrland and Region Jämtland Härjedalen.

– The experience and network from his time in Brussels will come in handy at a time when Norrbotten needs both the state and the EU to support it in order to manage the green transition. We are very happy that John has chosen to come home and continue working for Norrbotten's interests, says Monica Lejon, Head of Unit for Business and Society at the Department for Regional Development.

John Kostet starts his new position on September 1st but is looking forward to returning to the Norrbotten Region.

– It's great to be back home and working with all the smart people around the county again. These are exciting times and there are high expectations for everything that is happening in Norrbotten. We are facing a lot of difficult challenges that require a lot of humility, openness and more cooperation at all levels, says John Kostet.
