The government listened - gives Peter Larsson an extended mandate
Peter Larsson will continue as the government's coordinator. His assignment is being extended following a request from, among others, the Norrbotten Region.
For two years, Peter Larsson has been the government's coordinator for the social transformation that follows the large company establishments in Norrbotten and Västerbotten.
– His efforts have been extremely valuable. Peter Larsson has built relationships, highlighted obstacles and opportunities, created consensus and collaboration. But there is still much to be done, says Janus Brandin, regional development director at Region Norrbotten.
Peter Larsson's assignment was due to end in November. In a letter to Minister of Economic Affairs Ebba Busch, Region Norrbotten, Region Västerbotten and the establishment municipalities in the counties requested that his assignment be extended. Now the government has decided that Peter Larsson will continue for another six months.
“Huge steps”
– The coordinator's report shows the enormous strides that have been made, the extensive societal transformation that is taking place, and what the industry's opportunities and challenges look like going forward. Against this background and to enable a smooth handover of the work, the government intends to extend the coordinator's mandate, says Minister of Energy and Enterprise Ebba Busch in a press release.
Another person who is happy about the extension is Peter Larsson's colleague. Eva Nordstrom, coordinator for sustainable community development.
– It's fantastic to have Peter Larsson, who has been working on this for two years, by her side. He has a huge amount of relationships and expertise and knowledge. We work closely together and try to distribute the tasks, she says.
