The future of Northern Sweden in focus at the House of Science in Luleå

A seminar series about the green transition in northern Sweden is now starting at Vetenskapens hus in Luleå. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, where northern Sweden has a unique opportunity to lead the way in a transition that should be sustainable from several perspectives, environmentally as well as socially and economically. The seminar series Norra Scen – Arena for green transition, is a collaboration between IVA Nord, LKAB, SSAB, Luleå University of Technology, Region Norrbotten and Vattenfall.

– Norra Scen will be a unique platform for discussing the region's development linked to the green transition. The broad collaboration is a strength that shows a consensus regarding how important the issue is for the region and our world. When the region grows, we grow with it. We hope that the seminar series will attract many interested and committed people to the House of Science, says Birgitta Bergvall-Kåreborn, Vice-Chancellor at Luleå University of Technology.

At Norra Scen at Vetenskapens hus we discuss what is required for the transition to be successful. The ambition is to shed light on societal development from different perspectives and stakeholders. What opportunities and challenges in societal development do we see ahead? What should the interaction between industry, academia, society and everyone who lives here look like to realize the green transition in northern Sweden? Norra Scen is a meeting place for the region's future.
