Meet Grude - Green Rural Economy
The GRUDE project has collected and disseminated knowledge about circular economy in northern Sweden, Finland and Norway during 2019-2022.
Grude – a knowledge-raising project for green economy implemented in the northern parts of Sweden, Finland and Norway. The goal was to increase green growth in Arctic rural municipalities by collecting and disseminating knowledge about circular economy. The project was funded by the Interreg Nord program 2014-2021 with local co-financing from Region Norrbotten, Sparbanken Nord and Jokkmokks Allmänning.
Grude has organized over 60 events and reached around 1 unique participants, with interactive workshops, seminars, study tours and more. Participants have met across industry boundaries and shared innovative, circular solutions. The project has worked to make it easier for existing and aspiring entrepreneurs to learn more about and switch to a more resource-efficient, circular business model.
The project has been nominated for the Arctic Awards 2022, an annual project competition that aims to highlight projects that have achieved exceptional results, been innovatively conducted and engaged their target groups in an effective way to create value in the Arctic region. The winner will be announced during the next Arctic Cooperation event, planned for early 2023.
