Alviksgården has been engaged in agriculture since 1976 and has gradually developed its operations, which are concentrated around pig breeding, slaughtering and further processing of pork products. Since 1997, Alviksgården has used the manure from the pigs to produce biogas, which has been used as energy to operate the farm, among other things. The largest private biogas plant in Sweden. The new digestate plant takes advantage of a residual product from the biogas plant and converts it into biofertilizer, which will both be used in the farm's own grain production and also be sold.

– It is an honor to inaugurate this world-unique facility with a fantastic entrepreneur who is once again a pioneer in Swedish agriculture, says Regional Councilor Linda Frohm. Norrbotten is a world leader in the green transition and Alviksgården shows the way in agriculture for how circular thinking is put into practice.
