TestInfra Sweden and ABB test electric vehicles on public winter roads in the north

Region Norrbotten is co-financing a pilot study that aims to make northern Sweden the globally leading test region for the transport sector's transition to electricity. It will be possible for electric car drivers to have the safe, smart and sustainable vehicles of the future tested in both -40 ⁰C and + 30 ⁰C.

Region Norrbotten, Vattenfall, Luleå University of Technology and SPGA are collaborating to ensure rapid integration of e-mobility into the electricity grid.

- With everything that is happening in industry and its electrification, we see a great need to start building knowledge about the energy system of the future and associated testing needs now, says regional councilor Nils-Olov Lindfors at the Norrbotten Region.
