Applications for Mobility Support are open all year round.
Mobility initiatives aim to highlight and strengthen Norrbotten's professional visual and design artists, dancers and writers nationally and internationally through geographical mobility.

Mobility support can be applied for by
- Visual and design artists
The initiative is aimed at Norrbotten's professional artists and craftsmen, according to the criteria of the National Organization of Swedish Artists, the Swedish Association of Craftsmen & Industrial Designers. You can also be considered a professional if you have documented professional work that can be described based on a combination of educational qualifications, professional qualifications and scholarships or other awards.
The contribution refers to participation in exhibitions, residencies, project seminars or similar active participation. If the application refers to a residency, the purpose of the residency must be clearly stated.
A formal, signed invitation and/or contract/agreement from a recognized gallery/established organizer or recognized residency organizer must be attached to the application. - Dancer
The initiative is aimed at professional dancers in Norrbotten who have completed a higher artistic degree in dance or have documented professional work that can be described based on a combination of educational qualifications, professional qualifications and scholarships or other awards.
The contribution refers to costs linked to the offered residency. The purpose of the residency must be clearly stated. A formal, signed invitation and/or contract/agreement from a recognized residency organizer must be attached to the application. - FÃ ¶ Author
The initiative is aimed at published authors in Norrbotten who have documented professional activities that can be described based on a combination of professional achievements and scholarships or other awards.
The contribution refers to active participation in book and literature events (e.g. own stand/part of someone else's stand), residency, author appearance or similar active production participation. If the application concerns a residency, the purpose of the residency must be clearly stated.
A formal, signed invitation and/or contract/agreement from an established literary organizer or recognized residency organizer must be attached to the application.
The maximum amount granted within Sweden is SEK 8.
The maximum amount granted for international operations is SEK 15.
The following conditions need to be met in order for us to process your application.
- Applicants must hold an F or FA tax ID.
- Applicants can receive support a maximum of two times per calendar year.
- Eligible costs refer to travel, accommodation and any transport and/or shipping of artistic artifacts relevant to the implementation.

- Decisions are made approximately two months after we receive your application.
- Decisions cannot be made retrospectively, which means that the project cannot start before a decision has been made.
- After notification of the grant, you must apply for payment of funds.

FAQ: Decisions, disbursements and reporting
Decisions are made according to the regional development committee's delegation procedure.
Yes, some preparations may have begun, but support cannot be granted retroactively for projects that have already been completed.
For most forms of support, you will receive a decision within two months of the application deadline. More information can be found under each type of support.
Granted cultural support is paid in advance.
You must report no later than three months after the project has been completed. You report through the system we provide.
You may be liable for repayment. As long as previously granted projects are not reported, Region Norrbotten will not process any new application for cultural support, which means that the application will be rejected.

You should contact the Cultural Unit at Region Norrbotten. A new decision may need to be made based on the project's new circumstances.
