Strengthened cooperation between culture and business in Luleå city center
Luleå is a city of culture and we want to showcase this through more events and arrangements in the city. Together we can increase the attractiveness for those who live in or visit Luleå. During the morning we will expand the networks between the cultural industry, trade and the tourism industry so that more events and cultural activities have the opportunity to be carried out in the city center.
Culture not only attracts flows, it also increases turnover in the city centre. Results show a turnover increase of over 4 percent in medium-sized cities and small towns. In addition, culture contributes to life and dynamics that create reasons to visit and make visitors want to stay (cityindex 2024). Luleå is a major cultural tourist city in the region, there are statistics that show that these spend more money than ordinary tourists when they visit a city, for example by staying in hotels, eating out and shopping. Culture in Luleå is therefore an important force and source of income for other industries.
What will happen in the morning?
We will take part in short presentations and meetings with people who work to develop Luleå city center and have time to meet new partners and develop ideas together.
