Spring's names ready for Moskito Art Talk
Moskito Art Talk is a lecture concept initiated by the Resource Center for Art, the Luleå Art Gallery and the Luleå County Council of Artists. The concept presents artists living in Norrbotten as well as artists from outside who are currently exhibiting in Norrbotten.

– We have been pursuing the concept since 2018 after we saw a need for an arena where artists in the county could present themselves more closely. Most often, an Artist Talk is held in connection with an exhibition. But we wanted to give the county's artists the opportunity to meet their home audience, regardless of whether they are currently holding an exhibition at home, says Hanna Isaksson, operations manager at the Resource Center for Art and one of the organizers.
This spring, Moskito Art Talk will present three artists from Norrbotten, Lena Ylipää, Britta Marakatt-Labba and Isak Anshelm. But first up is Krister Hägglund on February 9, who is currently presenting the exhibition Hjortronlandet at Luleå Konsthall.
– In the exhibition Hjortronlandet, Krister Hägglund has worked in the footsteps of the author Sara Lidman. Behind him, he has a number of exhibitions and a major design assignment for Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, which forms the basis for the exhibition at Konsthallen. Says Hans Sundvall, artistic director at Luleå Konsthallen.
Krister Hägglund was born in 1958 in Dorotea and grew up there. For a few years in the early 1980s, Hägglund lived in Luleå, but after completing his studies at Konstfack in Stockholm, he has lived and worked in Skellefteå for more than 30 years.
Guldbagge winner Britta Marakatt-Labba is coming to Luleå to talk about her artistry in connection with the Art on the Move 2023 project, which is releasing three new buses with artwork on them in collaboration with LLT. Lena Ylipää has been featured in the Luleå Biennial this year and Isak Anshelm is a relatively recently graduated artist who moved up to Jämtön outside Luleå a few years ago. He is featured in an exhibition that opens at Luleå Konsthall in March.
