On June 14, a design lab will be arranged in the People-powered Transformation project together with Sverker Sörlin, researcher in environmental history and author of, among others, Framtidslandet.

With us during the day we also have Pia McAleenan from the Renewal Lab, which is part of the project. The Renewal Lab's methodology was developed at SVID, the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation, and since 2016 several municipalities and authorities have participated in different types of design labs.

Region Norrbotten is a partner in the People-powered transformation project. It is run by Design, Architecture and Work Science at Luleå University of Technology. The project is part of Sweden's new innovation initiative Impact Innovation, which is funded by Vinnova, Formas and the Swedish Energy Agency.

The aim of the project is to create a program office for the development of attractive, inclusive and sustainable living environments, with a focus on the role of humans in the green transition and societal transformation in the north. We are based on municipalities and regions in northern Sweden, and are convinced that the learning can be scaled up both nationally and internationally.

People-powered transformation invites academia, business, the public sector and civil society. Now we shape the future together!

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the North Sweden Green Deal project.
