Library on standby
That libraries have an important role to play in the event of a crisis, war or heightened state of alert became clear during the pandemic.
The role of libraries in total defense
Not everyone has figured out what role their own public library plays in the event of a crisis, war or heightened state of alert. How do you work together with your principal to still secure the library's mission?
The regional libraries in Västerbotten and Norrbotten are investing in further training for their 29 municipalities' public library staff in preparation for crises, war or heightened preparedness.
Competence website Library on standby
The need to land - and collect - different forms of resources resulted in a web. It is changeable and constantly updated.
A joint skills website has been put together and aims to increase knowledge in the area with a bearing on public library activities and live webinars on the theme, as well as the opportunity to work with a fictional entry into one's role in total defense.
A number of webinars will be offered on the competence website, including the Psychological Defense Agency speaking to libraries in the counties about undue influence of information.
Webinar: Toolbox for libraries' preparedness work
During the Library Days in May, a methodological support was released from the Swedish Library Association, developed by the Expert Network for the role of libraries in total defense. Now the Swedish Library Association is making a digital release, where parts of the working group participate and tell more. They go through the material and provide inputs to kick off the work on your particular library. Welcome to participate in the first webinar "Toolbox for libraries' preparedness work".
