North Stage - Almedalen 2022

Now it's finally time for the new premiere of Almedalen Week after a two-year hiatus. We invite regional actors as co-creators to our arena at Sweden's largest democratic meeting place.

Region Norrbotten will organize "Norra Scen - arena for transition leaders in Almedalen 2022" together with the mining group LKAB. Northern Sweden's role in the green transition through major investments and business establishment has created enormous interest in our part of the country.

This is a unique opportunity to make our voices heard and have our perspective have an impact in national decision-making processes that are crucial for the county's development.

To be clear with our messages, the joint arena will focus on three thematic areas over three days.

• July 4 - The Green Industrial Revolution
  Northern Sweden is currently leading the global transition from fossil energy to an electrified future. This places important demands on society. How do we ensure that there is enough energy for all of Sweden? How can permit processes become more efficient and predictable?
• July 5 - Social Transformation
  How do we ensure that the whole of society keeps up with the opportunities created by the green transition? The focus is on housing, infrastructure, services, culture and the destination.
• July 6 - Outlook
  Northern Sweden is growing and developing at a rapid pace. The question is how we will together solve the enormous skills needs that arise? How do we attract new investors and the world's best electricity and digital experts to the Arctic Circle? What is the image of northern Sweden today and how do we move forward? Focus on research, skills, offerings, international relations and collaboration.
